As an Accounts Payable Representative at AFN, you will play a key role on the Accounting Team by preparing and processing all accounts payable for AFN’s clients.  The position may also involve special projects and other related responsibilities.

Some of the challenges you'll tackle:

  • Coordinate Carrier billing via email, fax, or mail
  • Actively collect paperwork to facilitate billing (bill of ladings, proof of deliver, lumper receipts)
  • Set up Carrier payments via electronic funds, transfers, or live checks
  • Communicate with internal employees and vendors regarding discrepancies
  • Maintain open invoices and verify accuracy of invoices
  • Process all payables according to AFN standards
  • Confirm receipt of materials or services and check that paperwork is in order per customer requirements
  • Match invoices and other documentation necessary to process payments
  • Verify vendor statements and handle all correspondence involving accounts payable
  • Communicate with vendors regarding errors or questions on invoices
  • Verify vendor statements for completeness and accuracy
  • Audit accounts according to established procedures
  • Prepare checks for mailing and maintain appropriate records
  • All other related responsibilities and special projects as required

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Two years of previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting strongly preferred

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel,PowerPoint, and email
