PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:    

1. Provide analytical support to all AFN departments

  •    Identify short term and long term Business Intelligence (BI) strategic direction through clear expectation and needs exchange with all departments within the organization
  •    Create and maintain the set of metrics and driving factors essential to long term business growth, gain buy off from all facets of business to achieve organizational alignment
  •    Develop and maintain forecasting and financial models to drive improved business performance and alignment
  • Create standard work flow and support the process for adjusting rates based on customer requirements around fuel and accessorial charges
  •   Monitor transportation provider utilization and gather input on flow desirability from procurement department
  • Run the standard operating reports (on time, lane revenue reports, etc)
  • Provide analytical support for external customer presentations and monthly operating reports (MORs)
  • Continuously build strong internal partnerships with AFN representatives to support customer strategy through analytics
  1.  Support bid process from start to finish as outlined in AFN bidding process
  • Coordinate Requests for Pricing (RFP’s) across AFN customer base
  • Work with internal business partners to analyze opportunities, set priorities and strategies for existing and new account pricing
  • Develop and maintain short term/spot pricing structure
  • Maintain the database of all past business opportunities and success rates
  • Benchmark lanes against external and internal market trends
  • Create and maintain the logic behind lane desirability based on current AFN business goals and objectives
  • Forecast and measure lane estimated costs across the book of business
  • Drive RFP strategy execution to align the business opportunity with overall AFN goals
  • Perform market trend studies,  create and execute internal market update letter
  1. Participate in projects and process improvement efforts with quantitative analysis
  • Gather, reduce and organize data from multiple sources in multiple formats and organize effectively to perform accurate analysis  
  • Apply analysis on proposed systems and processes as a basis for making key decisions on resource requirements, systems, and other problems
  • Participate in projects to build, test and implement new processes and systems
  • Identify and close gaps between system reporting capability and business needs
  1. Develop and implement departmental productivity metrics to support management teams across the organization
  • Utilize data to create metrics and performance management tools by collaborating with department management
  • Complete efficiency improvement projects, automate reporting and data structures into self service reporting
  • Mine data and recommend new metrics to the department heads
  1.  Fulfill other duties as required

Education and Experience

Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree required, business, economics, or information management preferred
  • 2+ Years in an Analyst or Pricing role required
  • 1 year experience in Transportation field preferred
  • Strong analytical skills is a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Access required
  • Knowledge of Truckload market and understanding of rate structure
  • Experience developing ongoing relationships across multiple departments
  • Strong understanding of logistics and trucking terminology preferred
