As a Client Services Team Lead you will lead and engage a team of Logistics Coordinators by ensuring all managed freight is efficiently and accurately tracked. You will ensure that all AFN processes and procedures are fulfilled, and that all efforts set forth are made with the utmost attention to detail and consistent demonstration of AFN’s core values.

Some of the challenges you’ll tackle:

  • Coach, train, and motivate employee through regular feedback (1:1’s & reviews)
  • Identify gaps in knowledge and skills and create/implement plans for development through appropriate training
  • Be involved in the daily experience of every team member, regardless of tenure, experience level or knowledge. Training and tending to that learned knowledge is key to building a team of experts.
  • Turn ideas into initiatives and initiatives into execution. Execution is key to the future growth of the Logistics Coordinators team.
  • Consistently monitor and track developmental goals, performance goals, and action steps on defined objectives
  • Exemplify AFN values daily and champion team improvement best practices
  • Develop talent and succession plans based upon long term objectives to ensure proper staffing and resources of team
  • Provide daily management of employee relations matters professionally and consistently within company guidelines
  • Partner with the Client Services Manager to develop a strategic departmental plan to achieve business goals
  • Work with Client Services Lead and other Client Services Supervisors to create team and individual plans that align with departmental goals to understand how the team can achieve and maximize their business objectives
  • Be aware of the workflow on load boards at all times and allocate the team’s resources to ensure proactiveness
  • Inform appropriate parties when a situation arises with a particular shipment
  • Representative when an immediate solution to an issue is not available or unknown
  • Fullfill other duties as required

Job Requirements


  • 3-5 years in a customer service or administrative role preferred
  • Demonstrated history of increased responsibility or supervisory experience in previous positions preferred
  • Demonstrated experience of identifying opportunities and coming up with solutions

Education and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Inquisitive-nature and a “connect-the-dots” mentality
  • Positive attitude, personal initiative and laser-focus are essential in our open office environment
  • Strong understanding of the logistics and transportation industries
  • Ability to be accountable for self and teams work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills amongst customer, team, and other AFN team members
  • Must exercise judgment to make decisions that will result in positive impact to team and AFN
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and Powerbroker
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to delegate and multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans for the business
  • Ability to manage reports and analyze data as required
  • Ability to courageously manage team and make decisions that support the business, even though they may be unpopular
  • Ability to connect with direct employees and actively engage them in the business
